Well, my friends Drew and Britt were over during the weekned and Britt happened to come across trailer for the new TV show “Heroes“.

Wasn’t very inspiring. However…I also watched the first episode of LOST, and thought it was Jurassic Park part 4. Needless to say, I didn’t watch any more LOST.

My buddy Jack finally convinced me to watch it two months ago…and I became a die-hard fan. I would definately throw in that it is the best show on TV (even better than 24).

So, even though I feel no real connection to any of the Heroes chararacters, and I thought the acting was a little poor at times (and the writing a little corny/cliche’), I’m going to give it another episode or two.
The main reason I have episode forgiveness (besides the LOST reason) is that:

1. I’m a sucker for sci-fi/fantasy

2. It has potential

3. I too wish I had amazing super-powers!

Well….we’ll see

Abby and I had been trying to figure out when we were going to be able to start this “house church project” for a long time. It seemed impractical considering we didn’t have any actual experience in a house church. Basically, we had a lot of theory, but no practical (except) the actual ministry experience we both had garnered over the years.

So, the only thing we figured was to contact one of the men who first introduced me to the structure John White . He sent out an e-mail and, “bam!” I had three house churches in the Orlando area e-mail me. The only problem is that we didn’t have peace about it. We didn’t understand why, but we figured that it wasn’t our time, that we hadn’t the maturity yet, or that (as often I think the case is) if we went we would get sidetracked due to excitement. So, we didn’t go.

The only thing we knew was to continue to go to the church I had gone on and off to throughout my college days, The Gathering Place. One Sunday a couple came on stage and professed that thier goal for this new group, “[tag]InFlux[/tag],” was to see people participate in a group and, in essense, follow thier dreams for God.
Sounded good.

So, we went. A few weeks later we met with the leaders, Matthew and Heather. They are really cool peole with 4 kids (Abby and I in 8 or so years :). They met us at a coffee shop and talked with us from 8:30pm to 12:30am. They are all about letting people move into thier dreams, the dreams that God has placed into thier hearts. In fact, I was comfortable enough at one point to really share my fears about the group, which they assuaged rather easily.

Abby and I still have alot of “getting to know” with the other leaders in the group. Communication is easily misconstrued early in a relationship, but that is the way it goes.
