The House (simple) Church (planting) Project blog…exploring structure in a postmodern world

Tonight I am hanging out with Abby at the B&N in Altamonte. We went on a walk around Cranes Roost Park, we ate at Bahama Breeze Restaurant, and now we are sharing a Caramel Macchiato in the B&N Cafe’.
Tonight I’m in a sort of deep mode. I’ve been walking around the lake, the restaurant, and now the bookstore, looking at all the people, and thinking about how the whole human race (including me) is looking for connection. We are all looking for that genuine care and love that looks you in the eye and says, “you are the most important person in the world right now to me, and I am here for you.” We are all looking for that perfect love.
Sure, I know that God is the only one that can give it, but we all can taste it through personal contact. We were made to give and receive love, even though I don’t know how it’s expressed fully without God giving it and helping us. I know I need all the help I can get.
Tonight I just can’t help to think that my purpose in life is just to give others that connection, to express God for just a moment, if I can. Hopefully, if I can express that love from God enough times, eventually I can introduce someone to the Source of all the love I have.

Well, I haven’t posted in a bit, so I figured I should. It’s Spring Break, and today Abby and I are going up to see our good friends Drew and Britt in Savannah, GA. We’ve been wanting to go up for a while, and this is the first time that we’ve had a chance. Out of coincidence, Savannah has a huge St. Patrick’s day party and parade tomorrow. It’s supposed to be the biggest party in the Southeast. Now, I’m not a big “party guy,” but it will be cool to be there and check it out.
Drew and Britt both work for The South Magazine, so they have a nice tent with chairs for the parade.
On the home front, this week was the first real “down and dirty” on the new house that we are remodeling. Two other guys and I spent all Tuesday and Wednesday (7 to 430) tearing down ceilings, walls, bathrooms, and trim in the 27 year old house. Another day or two the tear down stage will be complete, then we can bring in the HVAC, electrician, and plumber. We are shooting for a May move-in.
This project is pretty exciting for me, since it’s my first real field experience in construction. Once we finish this house, I’ll be building a house, which will give me more experience. I’ll be alternating working out in the field and in the office.
Having the alternating schedule is good! Yesterday my whole body ached, and spending a day in the office gave me a chance to recuperate.

Well, it’s official. I actually went out and bought a set of golf clubs at PlayitAgain Sports (and acessories at WalMart). My good friend Andrew helped me out and showed me the way of the clubs. Here’s what I got for$180:
I’ve never been a golf enthusiast, but I like to hack around with some buds! It’s time that I transform my amazing baseball swing into an incredible driving stroke! Next, to play at the little kids tees!

Since Wordpress went to version 2.1, I decided to go with a different theme. What do you think?
